UMBC makes it very easy to feel part of a community; with great scholars programs, caring faculty and staff, and the endless amount of student groups. As a Cyber Scholar, I have been able to network with a variety of students and working professionals around the area, while also furthering my interest in cyber security. From these experiences, I have had technical internships with globally recognized companies since my freshman year. Additionally, UMBC also offers many leadership opportunities. I enjoy asisting with CWIT outreach events for high school girls, being an officer for a Christian organization called Cru, going on leadership retreats like STRiVE, and attending talks that help me become a better leader in the classroom and in the workforce. I love my supportive and encouraging community here at UMBC!
