Through CWIT I have met some of my best friends and we have some incredible memories from the summer CWIT retreat and the rest of the semester. Being a part of an LLC with some of my closest friends was a great experience, especially when we all had major assignments due and would meet in the lounge and work on things together. Aside from CWIT, another major part of my life at UMBC is the Hispanic Latino Student Union (HLSU). A Cyber scholar encouraged me to attend the first HLSU meeting and ever since then, I began attending the bi-weekly meetings and the weekly executive board meetings as well. I have met some of the funniest and kindest people at HLSU meetings, and I plan on running for a position on the executive board again next year. Through HLSU I applied to volunteer at Lakeland Elementary School as a fourth grade math tutor and that was a very humbling and amazing opportunity. UMBC has allowed me to meet so many different people and try out new and exciting things on a regular basis. UMBC has been amazing and I cannot wait to see what the future has in store.
