Bits & Bytes

The Bits & Bytes Program is accepting applications from high school juniors interested in finding out more about the fields of engineering and computing. We are excited to invite academically talented students who are committed to CWIT’s mission of encouraging and supporting women and other underrepresented groups to be leaders in computing and engineering fields to attend this program. This event is free to attend for the students who are selected.

If selected, participation will include interactions with college students and faculty, an engineering or computing related hands-on design competition, general advice on being a strong STEM college applicant, and more.We are planning for this to be an overnight program from approximately 5pm on Sunday, February 18 until approximately 6pm on Monday, February 19 (President’s Day).

Please Note: Overnight accommodations involve spending the night in a residence hall room, hosted by UMBC students who are part of the Center for Women in Technology’s programs. There are no extra beds in these rooms, so participants will need to bring enough pillows and blankets to be able to spend one night sleeping on the floor. Meals will be provided (Sunday dinner and snacks, Monday breakfast, lunch, and snacks).

You must fully complete this online application to be considered for the program. Notifications will be sent out by January 30, 2024.

APPLICATION DEADLINE IS JANUARY 15, 2024
