Cyber Scholar, Y5
Major: Computer Science
Graduation Year: 2018
I always wanted to explore a career in technology, so I attended community college for two years where I studied and graduated with an Associates of Applied Science in Information Systems. Transferring from a community college to a four-year institute, like UMBC, I didn’t know what to expect, but because of the diversity of UMBC I was accepted with open arms. Given the broad opportunities at this school to explore the various aspects of computing I was able to find my place within the technology field. UMBC has given me the opportunity to learn from caring and knowledge staff, as well as challenge myself to grow in the field of Computer Science. Being a Cyber Scholar has helped me build my professional profile by networking with experts within various fields of technology. It has also afforded me the opportunity to further my education in my field of interest which is cyber security. The CWIT community has been there for me through my journey, providing support and guidance the entire way. I am very grateful for the many doors CWIT has opened for me.
