Cyber 101

The Cyber 101 Program is for high school seniors (some juniors may be selected as well) who are interested in computing and who would like to learn more about the field of cybersecurity. This program is open to students of all genders who support the UMBC Center for Women in Technology’s mission to encourage and support women and other underrepresented groups to be leaders in computing and engineering fields.

This event typically occurs in November, with applications opening by early September. Check back for the 2026 application then!

This is an overnight program, with attendees spending one night in the university residence halls as guests of our current Scholars and Affiliates. PLEASE NOTE: This means that students will need to bring enough pillows and blankets to be comfortable spending one night sleeping on the floor.

This is a free program for students who are selected to participate and all meals and snacks will be provided.
