Many high school students spend a copious amount of time deciding what college they will attend and what major they will pursue. The CWIT Program and FIRST Robotics allowed me to make each of these decisions with great ease. My infatuation with science and technology began when I joined my middle school’s robotics club, and continued in high school with FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) Team 3941. FRC 3941 served as a place where my understanding and appreciation for the engineering design process could flourish while simultaneously developing my communication and business management skills. The CWIT community has proven over and over again that is a place where each member’s passion for STEM is encouraged and supported. I am incredibly grateful to be a part of the CWIT community, as well as a Retriever here at UMBC!
