Trisha Joy Francisco

CWIT Scholar, C20
Major: Mechanical Engineering
Expected Graduation: 2025

CWIT has given me a supportive and welcoming environment that has made it easy for me to create new friends and push myself outside of my comfort zone. The network of upperclassmen, professionals and mentors have been important in my journey to become a mechanical engineer as they have guided me in navigating the college life in a personal and professional aspect. I’ve enjoyed the CWIT networking events because I get to talk to professionals in their field and explore my different interests such as the biomedical and aerospace field. I also value the one-on-one talks with my mentors because I’m able to share my experience and gain a new perspective about what it takes to be an engineer while also building personal connections with them. Through CWIT’s opportunities, support, and guidance, I was able to get an internship at NASA even as a freshman and realized that my passion is to simply create or innovate technology that would benefit others and the future generations. Whatever industry I may choose to work in, I hope to contribute to a project that benefits humanity and sparks curiosity and advancements in technology.
