I am incredibly excited to begin my academic journey at UMBC as a member of the CWIT community. I love the familial environment of CWIT and the College of Engineering. Upon completing an internship at the US Army Research Laboratory, where I worked on synthesizing polymer-based artificial muscles, I discovered that I wanted major in chemical engineering and learn more about materials engineering. This semester (spring 2020), I am excited to begin working in an on-campus research lab that is focusing on creating rechargeable batteries using polymer electrolytes. I can’t wait to continue participating in ChemE car, Women’s Ultimate Frisbee, SWE, AIChE, and CWIT activities next semester.
