Major: Mechanical Engineering
Minor: Psychology
Graduation Year: 2018
CWIT Scholar, C12

The reason I chose to pursue engineering is because I wanted to truly make a difference, and my love of building, math, and design. This is what led me to pursue Mechanical Engineering. I love UMBC because unlike other schools, I truly can get involved with my major and get to know the faculty on a near personal level. This has allowed me to truly love my major and my department even more, as well as the fact that I have been encouraged to push myself beyond what I thought I was capable of. With the support of my professors, CWIT, and the education that UMBC has given me, I have been able to complete five internships/co-ops, all related to my major, and was able to study abroad in a program related to my career goals. The college experience that I have had so far is beyond what I imagined coming in to UMBC, and I am proud to call myself a Retriever and a CWIT Scholar.
