CWIT Scholar, C14
Major: Computer Science

Expected Graduation Year: 2019

I have really enjoyed my time here at UMBC so far. One strong factor has been my involvement in CWIT. CWIT has helped me to make friends, form study groups, learn how to succeed in college and so much more. They helped me get my first internship summer of my freshman year where I did iOS mobile app development and learned that I liked it so much that I am strongly considering pursuing it a career. In general, I also really enjoy my major, so much that I am currently a teaching assistant for a first year computer science course. CWIT has definitly helped me grow as a person, as I come to learn who I am and what I believe in. I know that no matter what, I have a safe space within CWIT. CWIT has always encouraged its students to push outside their comfort zone and try new things. Being a part of CWIT has encouraged me to participate more in campus activities [I tend to be a fairly introverted individual]. I know that by the time I graduate, I will be able to look back and see all of the things I have accomplished thanks to the support of my CWIT family.
