CWIT and the Cyber Scholars program were the main reason why I decided to transfer from my previous college and come to UMBC. I have always been passionate about increasing the representation of women and minority groups in the STEM fields, so finding out that there was an organization at UMBC that supported this same mission was really exciting. CWIT and UMBC have really provided me the opportunity to grow as a student and as a person, and have given me opportunities I never thought I would have. CWIT has opened many doors for me in the professional world and has given me a lot of practice with how to network and get internships. I have learned so much more than just computer science coursework during my time here so far, and joining the Cyber Scholars program was one of the best decisions I have ever made.
